The Empowering Ekona Youths Association (EEY) is a platform for the empowerment of youths from Ekona within and out of the national territory with rich knowledge, skills, and talents acquired through individual and collective capacity-building training. We believe in the multiplier effect of empowering just one of the youths under this umbrella association, EEY. This can be done through the collective efforts of many people, not only the youths from Ekona.

Our Story

The far cry for a community engagement life amongst the youths can be drawn from a whole lot of factors that then described us as children and youths of Ekona. To a greater biased extent, the name of our community has been linked to some unpleasant events hindering the bright lights and talents of the vibrant youths of Ekona. These factors left a record number of our youths dispirited, unenthusiastic, and sometimes given up easily on reachable goals in life. Irrespective of their prowess, talent, rich cultural diversity, a blessed land with virgin volcanic soils, and unbeatable educational potentials, our youths found themselves wanting until the potency of inseparability grew amongst the youth. It was like the emergence of strength in a new dawn that took the grip of Ekona youths as we converge in and out of our community. This grip took us on a swoop and the wind of change to make known and heard our voices of WHO we really are and WHAT we are made of became an everyday burning desire of the Ekona youths. This saw the birth of the prestigious EEY which today paves the way of our identity and values.

Our Mission

Empowering Ekona Youths Association seek to engage in activities that will enable the youths of Ekona reach their full potential through education, capacity building seminars and workshops and the creation of innovative youth empowerment projects. With our strong zeal of empowering the youths of Ekona, our mission centers around the rich socio-economic diversity of Ekona and Cameroon at large. Our aim is individually and collectively promote and protect the interests and aspirations of the youths of Ekona Mbenge residing in Cameroon or abroad, cherish and foster the spirit of collegiality among the youths of Ekona Mbenge and also mobilize Ekona Mbenge youths at home and abroad towards working and operating both individually and collectively in collaboration with, and while contributing to the growth and sustenance of the association.
